    You cannot verify it through the IRS as they will not give out any personal information (neither will the Social Security Administration).

    Just what form is it? And how does it relate to lending money?

    If you are doubting some of the information on the form there may be other ways of checking.

    For example, if the person has indicated that they work for a certain company, you can call and verify if they do actually work there.

    I forget the IRS form number, but there is an IRS form the borrower signs that authorizes you to get copies of returns filed by the borrower.

    EDIT:

    IRS FORM 4506T (Request for Transcript of Tax Return) is the form you need to have the borrower sign.
